World Vegan Day
World Vegan Day is celebrated around the world as a time to recognise how far the vegan movement has come, reflect on our successes, and to highlight how accessible and beneficial a vegan lifestyle is.
The brief: This brief was used to gain a place on Creative Equals two week online 'Creative Comeback' course run by D&AD and sponsored by Diageo and Netflix. The brief was to create noise and engagement to commemorate ‘World Vegan Day’

My solution: To answer this open brief, I researched and posed the question to vegans, ‘what does being a vegan mean to you?’ From their responses, I have designed an engaging identity based around letterforms, inspired from street food markets, quality crafts and wood block lettering. This ‘hand was here’ approach is informal and alluring, which lends itself well to wellness industries, food, retail and the health conscious. It also nods at sustainability and recycling that fits with the vegan philosophy of caring for our planet.

From home grown radish and carrot leafs, I photographed and made prints to create a unique logo for ‘World Vegan Day’ which can be executed in a variety
of colourways. I chose a vegetable based colour palette consisting of aubergine, leaf, earth and plants, which set against the use of white space reflects health and freshness.

The brand style that I have created can be easily applied to all manor of publicity, such as digital channels, social media and merchandise.
